At 2 Phillip Law Street, The Nishi Building is an award-winning sustainable building located in Canberra’s NewActon design precinct. It was designed by internationally acclaimed architects Suppose Design Office from Tokyo and Fender Katsalidis Architects from Melbourne. The Nishi Building received the International Project of the Year award at the 2015 Building Awards in London.
Constructed with 1,600 meters of steel, mesh, and Australian blackbutt timber, the building incorporates a range of green features such as high-performance glazing, solar power, and a blackwater recycling system. Over 90 plant boxes with various plant species surround the building’s facade.
